The Artists’ Gallery Opens with Marc Rubin in ‘Vicissitudes’
The public is invited to visit the Artists’ Gallery on First Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. for light refreshments and libations and to meet the artist of the month, Marc Rubin.
Rubin’s work from his series “Vicissitudes” will be featured throughout the month of April.
The Artists’ Gallery is located at 239 High St. in Chestertown and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sundays.

According to a news release, in “Vicissitudes,” Rubin focuses on the world around us and overlooked aspects to find inspiration for his art.
The release states Rubin is a classical representational oil painter whose rich use of color and eye for composition sets him apart from his contemporaries.
Rubin was classically trained by Thomas Buechner in upstate New York.
Rubin’s work has been featured in art galleries in Corning, N.Y., Lambertville, N.J. and Philadelphia, Pa, as well as the Artists’ Gallery in Chestertown. Rubin is based in Elmira, N.Y.
